Raksha Bandhan is a Hindu festival which celebrates the connection between sisters and brothers, and households, on the entire moon of the Hindu month of Shravana (Shravan Poornima), roughly July and August. This day can be known as Brother and Sister Day.Raksha Bandhan (Rakhi) is an optional vacation.
Employment and vacation legislation in India allow workers to decide on a limited number of vacations from a list of discretionary vacations. Some workers might decide to take the day off this particular day, but most offices and companies stay available.
Long ago,a conflict ensued between the Gods and the Demons, which happened on continuously for 12 long years in the conclusion of which the Demons won. The Demons not just seized the throne of the King of this Gods-Indra, but also the whole 3 Worlds. After Indra lost the struggle, He went into the religious teacher of this Gods-Brihaspati-and sought his guidance.
Brihaspati pioneered the method of chanting the mantras from the month of Shravan on a Full Moon day. In this service of reciting of mantras, a ribbon was closely tied to a little packet’comprising’the blessings. Following the service, this little packet comprising the security blessings was tied by Lord Indra’s spouse, Shachi, who’s also called Indrani, on Indra’s wrist.
Due to these blessings, Lord Indra got his power to conquer the Demons and recover back His missing kingdom.Presently, this festival is now synonymous with all the bond and love between sisters and brothers and it may be stated that it is a festival which strengthens and reaffirms the love between a sister and brother.
While on one hand, the brother promises to care for his sister and safeguard her all of his life, on the flip side, the sister prays to the extended life of her own brother.
